In the United States, Employer Intermediaries play an essential role of building bridges between talent and industry, providing the necessary capacity and subject matter expertise to design, implement, and scale work-based learning opportunities. While work-based learning is a proven lever for economic mobility, sustainable funding remains a significant barrier to scale. Grounded in the functions articulated in the Framework for Effective Employer Intermediaries report, this interactive session will engage funders and practitioners in a conversation to: develop an initial perspective on employers’, government’s, and philanthropies' willingness to pay; discuss where public funds would be most beneficial; and workshop what realistic public accountability metrics could look like.
